My 2015 Outback with the FB25 is sitting at 393,800 miles. Its been burning a quart of oil every 5k since about 75,000 miles on the odometer. But now I either have a cracked head or head gasket leak as I have combustion leak into coolant.

Bought a 2020 Kia in May 2024 with 90k miles. There was a failed torque converter and dealer thankfully replaced transmission. A high pitched white noise noticed by wife driving her crazy at highway speeds (passenger rear doors don't seem to seal completely) - some have mentioned using surgical tubing in some form to increase the pressure of door when it closes (haven't tried it yet). Lastly, there is a vibration issue - wife said in her research the drivetrain is 5% off or something like that according to some forum people. Force balanced tires did not solve issue. Will probably try to remove driveshaft soon to see if it changes it as I heard it is problem with AWD versions.

I have changed the maf/and the map sensor and it’s still says it’s bad..I have also replaced the throttle body and alternator and plugs and coils and my 2014 Chevy traverse keeps going in reduced engine mode/service stabilitrack and traction control off. Any ideas this is driving me crazy for 2 months I also replaced the fuse box under the hood.

I had a 1st gen Forester and absolutely loved it. Once you replace the H/G with MLS H/Gs, the engine becomes a tank. From there on it’s just oil changes and wheel bearings.

Only problem with this motor is the emissions. The egr system will fail dump water in the exhaust and blow a head gasket. Delete the egr…. It will rip for a long time

Bought a Mazda3 hatch brand new in 2016. 118,000 miles later and not a single issue with the engine. I did have the serpentine belt replaced at 100,000 miles. The other day my back passenger side shocks went. Aside from that, it’s been a fine car. As long as you get oil changes in a timely manner, I feel like my Mazda will run forever.

I’m not sure what engine you had but mine lasted for 413,000 miles until I wrecked. Did not need an overhaul nor did I have major oil consumption.

Man my vw Passat just recently started dying on me while driving my battery light comes on. However I put it in park and restart it. It drives fine. Then There’s days it doesn’t do it at all the ac will still be blowing when it happens 🤦🤦

2010 Forester had the Ac evaporator changed at 86k miles, other than that regular maintenance, flawless.

I would like to know where this guy got his info...I have a 2012 xlt escape with 1 recall. I have a little over 87k miles. If you take care of any vehicle they should last for a long long time. My BIGGEST GRIPE IS THE RUST ON BOTH SIDES OF MY REAR WHEEL FENDERS. I don't know why Ford wouldn't have put a plastic liner in the rear like they have under the front wheel well fenders. That's what pisses me off.

I have a 2006 Honda 3.5L j35 with 282,000 miles on it. Runs smooth as glass, and doesn’t burn or loose oil. Love this engine so much. Regular maintenance is the key. Keep up with oil changes, run carbon cleaner in it, change timing belt and water pump, adjust the valves, and this thing will treat you good. Oh, and put genuine Honda parts on it ok. Aftermarket are junk. You can get genuine parts for way less than the dealer at Hondapartsnow.

Sir, I have a question regarding driving an automatic transmission car on a 30-kilometer range uphill route. What is the best driving method to use? Should I use the OD (Overdrive) OFF function or gear 2, 1 or L gear? And to assist with engine braking, on downhill, should I use gear 2, 1, or L for the entire 30 kilometers to prevent damage to the transmission? Your answer and explanation would be greatly appreciated.
